The rules, regulations and laws in Kladd`atir are in place to ensure a fun, realistic, safe and enjoyable roleplay experience. Please be sure to read them thoroughly and if you have any questions or concerns, direct them at the packs council for clarification. These rules are not up for debate. Disputing, disregarding or undermining them will ultimately end with your forceful removal from our pack or channel(s). Be sure to read them all and understand them "I didn't know" is not a valid excuse. These are to be read and agreed to before joining our packs channels.
Respect Respect the rules, Respect each other and Respect yourself. Zero Tolerance will be shown to any user who fails to show such respect.
Age Limit Kladd`atir requires a minimum age of 16 to join the pack, or be present in our channels.
Drama In light of the older user-base of the pack, we like to think it goes without saying that we do not do drama of any kind.
Channels Please be present in both the Out of Character (#Kladdatir) and Roleplay (#Hollow) channels at all times. We do require participation by members/visitors alike and the only way to know its happening is if your in both channels. This is only excused for those using a Mobil device.
Time zones The pack user-base is primarily in the United States. The pack is most active in the evening around 5PST/6MST/7CST/8 EST.
Advertising/Poaching Do not post links to other games or packs in our channels or try to coax our members away to other games or packs on or off IRC. Any indication of one trying to lure members away from Kladd`atir will be delt with as the council sees fit.
Participation Our channels are for the use of the pack and the roleplay. This is no one person's personal chat room and if you are not here to participate actively in both channels, please create a channel of your own.
All pack rules apply to visitors and guests during the duration of their stay within our packs chat. The rules are suppose to be read, understood and agreed upon before joining the channels. This includes both OOC and IC rules which may require subtle adjustments to characters to comply with our standards. You are in our home, respect our laws. Please read the whole pack law in full, not just this section.
Out of Character: #Kladdatir
Idling If you will be away from the computer or otherwise not paying attention to the channels please remember to change your name to reflect your away status. You will receive reminders to change your name but if the habit continues you will be removed.
Cursing/Language Keep it to a dull roar. We are all adults but that does not mean that the channels can be flooded by vulgar language. The bot will be triggered by curse words. If abused, you will be kicked. Failure to comply will result in a temporary ban.
Conversation Content Conversation Content Mind the topics as they come up. Avoid taboo conversation including but not limited to Religion, Politics, Sexual Orientation, Death, Drugs and Alcohol ect. Upsetting topics should be avoided as well. If anyone is uncomfortable with the current content of conversation, they should notify a council member immediately.
Social Conflicts If a situation were to arise in the channel, please do not get involved. Let a council member handle it and only participate if prompted to do so.
Colors/Scripts Be courteous of everyone's vision and avoid using blinding colors as most use a white background. Scripts should be limited and contained only to the out of character channel with the exception of OOC and Cut Scripts.
Activity Participation is essential to the packs survival. Please initiate and participate in roleplay sessions as frequently as possible!
Literacy Users must be literate, fluent in English and have at least basic knowledge of grammar. We do not allow for the use of "WolfSpeak" Please see our
Wolfspeak Guide for reference. Spelling is not a must but the use of netspeak is strictly prohibited during roleplay. IE: "u" vs "you"
Realism We are a semi-realistic pack. This means that we stick as closely to realism, factual ideas and concocts as possible while taking some creative liberties for the progression of the game itself.
GodModing GodModing Super-wolfing and power playing is not permitted. One player has absolutely no control over another players character except in the instance of the player leaving the roleplay without making an exit post, at which time you are permitted to say they fell asleep or walked away. You must always leave situations open ended for another to respond. Using words such as "attempted", "tried" or "hoped" leaves your post open for another character to act as they would. No wolves are completely resistant to injury or fault, accept that and it will add more realism and character to your wolf.
Posting Posting must be done using the /me command and composed in third person with "her/his" vs "me/my" statements. Users must compose posts with a minimum of 3 sentences but are encouraged to do more. We also post in order to avoid anyone being skipped. Orders can be divided into multiple order sets, in which case you stick to the set you are entered into.
Responses Be sure to read all the Roleplay posts associated with your group interaction so that you can be sure of what your character knows vs what you as the player knows and to ensure no one is excluded.
Time/Weather Everything occurs in real-time which means 1 hour of Roleplay is equal to 1 hour of real time. That being said, all injuries and such heal in real time so if you have your character get injured, be prepared to serve the downtime associated with it. Weather is pulled directly from Glacier National Park, and the pack runs on MST time zone.
Predetermined story lines involving some sort of in character based stressor such as but not limited to; encounters with other predators, Fights between characters, death of a character or extreme weather. All instances of this sort must first be approved by a council member.
Assessment Assessment can last as long as the council sees fit for any user depending largely on their participation and activity levels. Those in assessment are able to leave the pack, free of repercussion at any time and are subject to removal at any time for any reason the council sees fit.
Auditioning After obtaining membership, characters may begin auditioning for career rank positions. Auditions are fulfilled by completing the tasks as noted in the designated rank guides. You may change your Auditioning rank at any time during your audition.
Council Ranks Council ranks are invitation only and appointed by the current pack Council.
Leave of Absences If you are going to be away for more then a week it is very important that you submit a Leave of Absence. As adults we are all aware that sometimes life just gets in the way and we are happy to accommodate for such occasions. The key to LOAs is communication. After 3 months of LOA with contact, if ranked you will be demoted to subordinate, if contact is maintained you may remain in Subordinate until you are able to return. A 3 month LOA without contact will result in removal (Subordinate and lower) or demotion. (Packmate and higher.)
Promotions/Demotions Everywolf in Kladd`atir earns and maintains his/her rank. Promotions are given out based on activity and enthusiasm while Demotions are given for poor behavior and inactivity. Both happen frequently and should not be taken personally.
Characters, Bonds, Breeding
Any pup character NOT born into the pack must be a minimum of 2-5 months old, pending approval by the council. Character ages must cap out at 12 years. At that point you must dispose of the character by means of death or dispursal. Characters age in real time. It is important, especially for pup players to monitor their characters age and grow, develop and behave accordingly.
Clones Multiple Characters played by a single player are strictly monitored and regulated. Only under certain circumstances may a user bring in a clone. All clones are subject to review and/or removal based on the players activity level and all clones must first be approved by the council for one of the following reasons:
- If you play a pup born into the pack and your activity level allows for it, you may create another character who may be apart of the pack. You are eligible for this option for the lifetime and membership of your pup character.
- Part of the transition from Earthensong to Kladd`atir was that all EarthenSong members were able to return their secondary characters at a later time. You must have been an active member of Kladd`atir at that time and may only use the alternate character that was apart of Earthensong at that time and may join the pack.
- If you are Active players who have completed their assessment.
Clone Interaction Roleplay between characters with a common player should be kept to a minimum. Any instances in which the characters exchanged information or scenarios should be kept behind the scenes and actual character interaction should be kept to a minimum to prevent one from Roleplaying with themselves.
Other Animals Playing other animals is subject to review by the council and must first be approved before the character may actively be played in the channels.
Naturalism Characters must be natural. They may not have unnatural colored eyes or fur or possess any type of magical powers. Images used for characters must not be grey scaled, excessively altered (eyes permitted as long as they are natrual green/grey/amber/brown/gold/blue), or otherwise overly edited and may be declines due to size, quality or use.
Character Concepts While we enjoy "interesting" characters, please keep it realistic. A blind, three-legged, deaf, one eared wolf would be dead in the wild. You must also be committed to any of these limitations you give your character and may not randomly decide you want them to be "fixed" This equally applies to your characters behavior. While its okay to have some spunk, they cannot be disrespectful or unpleasant on a regular basis. They must have a personality which is compatible with a pack environment.
All Character Bonds, including but not limited to Courtships, Mateships, Adoptions or Spiritual Bonds are considered to be lifelong commitments and are rarely if ever dissolved. They should not be entered into with haste. Nowolf under the age of 1 year may enter into a spiritual bond.
Courtship/Mateship These bonds must remain heterosexual, this does not reflect the views or ideals of the pack but is simply for the sake of realism. Courtships/Mateships may not be entered, or dissolved with any amount of haste and both must be approved by the council.
Breeding may not be done out of season, is not permitted between two wolves who are not mates, are not recognized as mates by the pack, or those who are underage. All mating pairs must be at least 2 years (roughly) to breed. A female may no longer get pregnant after the age of 8 while males can continue to impregnate females throughout their lives. Pregnant females may not participate in hunts and Pregnancies that occurred before membership with Kladd`atir are subject to review by the council.
Parents are responsible for selecting a number of pups they wish to have, a due date some 63 days (1-2 days of) after conception and recruiting players for the pups. Any pups without players 4 weeks after birth will be considered deceased. Pup characters essentially are the property of their parents. Parents may decide the fate of the character until 6 months of age.
Leaving the Pack You may be accepted back into the pack after a willing departure only once. Depending on the nature of the previous departure you may be required to serve an extended assessment.
Council Liberties We do reserve the right to rewrite, reword, add or remove rules, refuse assessment and/or remove a player from the pack at any time via majority council vote.
